"I think what this study shows is how much we have truly underestimated the effects of stress on our lives, on our health, and certainly on our risk factors for heart disease. Looking at this trial, traumatic events, or really negative life events, over a period of time increases the incidence of obesity. This is not surprising, but this is something that we really haven't paid attention to, hopefully up until now."
